Son of Adam Cafe in Keysborough is seeking an experienced full time Head Chef to take lead in our great team.
We serve Modern Australian cuisine with a Mediterranean/Middle Eastern twist and we are open 7 days a week, but this a daytime only position, and no split shifts. So finish by 3-4pm each day.
We have a busy but fun atmosphere that will suit you if your a good team worker and happy to work hard, fast and most importantly, fun.
A high level of cafe style food knowledge, experience in ordering & cost management, and ability to manage the kitchen will be highly recommended.
You will be responsible for:
• Building and training a strong kitchen team
• Developing a takeaway and take home meal offering
• Designing menu (annually updates) and seasonal weekly specials
• Meeting food cost and labour targets
• Maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction through consistency of product and timely service
• Following all food safety procedures
• Ordering and stock control
The requirements for this position are as follow:
• Minimum Certificate 3 in cookery
• Minimum 3 years experience in a Head Chef role
• Able to work under pressure and in a busy environment
• Reliable
• Ability to work with & adhere to weekly budgets
• Ability to manage, train & develop staff
• A passion for creating great & quality food
• Eye for detail and presentation
• Maintain strict hygiene and safety procedures
